Important Notice for U.S. Buyers Regarding the New Puntitive Tariffs Imposed on Chinese Products
My dear vauled customers from Unitied States of America:
We would like to inform you about an important update regarding the U.S. de minimis policy. As you may know, the ‘de minimis’ policy, which is a tariff exemption policy for values of products under $800, will be ended on May 02, 2025. The new punitive tariff rules will be imposed on Chinese products, which will collect about 145%(or more) of the product value as the tariff. The exact percentage is always changing currently as of April 16, 2025. Considering the potential business risks we may encounter, like delays caused by the tariff issues and the coming degraded customs clearance efficiency, we have decided to stop the orders from U.S. temporarily starting from April 18, 2025. We will re-open the U.S. orders once if the new tariff rules stay unchanged.
Currently, the tariff has been reduced a lot, but it’s still around 46-60% depending on the product category, and the minimum tariff for each package(parcel) is $100. So let say for a product like digiPi, it’s $51.99, the calculated tariff is 51.99 x 0.46 = $23.92, but it’s lower than the minimum value which is $100, so for a digiPi HAT, you still have to pay $100 as the import duty. We think this vaule is still in the high level and could give some potential risks for our small business, like product replacement due to its failure, or a full refund sometimes, and we can’t get the paid tariff back, and our profit is much less than the minimum tariff. As a result, now we continue to suspend the shipments to US temporarily. We will keep an eye on the tariff rules and see how it goes until we think it’s the right time to ship to the US again after evaluation.
Best regards,
