Description

The youloop is of magics for all shortwave listening. It is a simple and quiet antenna of high performance, whatever the official youloop or even your diy ones. It is a quiet passive antenna, so we get a chance to add an amplifier for amplifying the weak signals. The balun box introduced here integrates a high performance preamp with a relay to control the amplifier’s ON and OFF. The amplifier is powered through Bias-T with a DC-12V. When the applied dc is OFF, the amplifier is shut down and the RF signals will bypass the amplifier and feed to the coax directly. In this case, the youloop is in passive mode and the performance is equal to your original youloop without an amplifier. When the balun box is in active mode, the RF signal is amplified by its internal amplifier and then fed to coax.

The balun box is able to replace your original balun box directly. The balun box is built in a black box of weather proof. However, when it is installed outdoors, the SMA connectors should be protected from water with waterproof tape.
